The Center for Analysis and Prevention of Corruption (CAPC), in partnership with the Swedish Foundation for Human Rights and with the financial support of the Swedish Institute, is launching the activities of the project “Partnership for Transitional Justice: Building Bridges between Armenia, Moldova, and Sweden.”
The initiative stems from the idea that different societies face different problematic pasts. Within the project, Sweden, Armenia, and the Republic of Moldova will be comparatively analyzed as three distinct contexts, marked by post-conflict or post-authoritarian challenges, as well as the experience of state capture.
In the Republic of Moldova, the project will specifically address the period of state capture and its effects on public institutions, social trust, and accountability mechanisms.
Through this project, CAPC aims to contribute to a better understanding of how societies can respond to periods marked by abuses, impunity, or institutional degradation, including by clarifying the truth, strengthening public accountability, preserving institutional memory, and promoting guarantees of non-recurrence.
From 2004 to the present, the Center for Analysis and Prevention of Corruption has successfully implemented over 40 projects aimed at preventing corruption, including in the field of justice.
